Trying out my old Prismacolor Pencils
A little more than 20 years ago I was a sophomore in high school. I was an aspiring artist eager to learn everything I could. I would take core classes during the summer so that I could have more art classes during the year. It was at this time that I made my very first HUGE art purchase. I went to the art store and purchased a set of 60 Prismacolors. Now, I didn't really use them as I preferred to work in watercolor, charcoal, and graphite pencil. Occasionally I would pick them up and doodle, but I never really did much with them until now.
All of the pieces in this post were created with Prismacolor pencils and Odorless Mineral Spirits.
And now a glimpse of my studio. On my desk I have my pencils and my copics within reach.

Looks great!!! I'm going to have to get my prisma's out now! I've had mine since 1988 too!!

These cards are colored gorgeously Samara. I am not very good at using coloring pencil. I should try to practice more :o)

Wow I have a set of the same pencils but I sure couldnt get them to look even close to how good your look. Great job! Maybe I need to get them back out.

Wonderful job with the colored pencils. I'll have to try using the pencils again. My copics have overtaken my life. All the cards look great.

Beautiful! I have used Prisma and OMS too, but not got this effect! These are just stunning! Look at your lovely neat desk too - I would be too embarrassed to post a pic of mine, it's dreadful! LOL!! :o) x

Well Samara, if you keep colouring those Magnolias so beautifully, I'm just going to have to capitulate and say I LIKE them LOL!!! These are gorgeous...just wish they had different faces! Beautiful work :)

So sweet! I actually prefer watercolor or prismas to copics, I just cannot get the hang of them. I do like the look you've achieved on the dresses and faces, very delicate.

I just got my prisma's out last week! Haha...that is funny. These cards are great. You did a great job with the prisma/spirits combo.
Just beautiful. Isn't it fun to be an adult and revisit the things we loved to do years ago. I love your colouring! Just gorgeous! What does the spirits do, how do you use them?
